This
is Amber Rose. She is quite the special girl who always has to have
something in her mouth. Usually it's a tennis ball or some variation of a
tennis ball. She also loves to fetch sticks out of the river. It doesn't
matter how cold the water is, but that is what Chessie's are bred to do,
rescue people out of the cold waters of the Chesapeake Bay. She has such a
silly personality and greets us every evening with a ball in her mouth doing
her WoooWooo. Which we know means she is telling us about her day. She know a
lot of commands beyond the standards, they include, "No More," "One More,"
"Hand it to me," "Drop it" and "Get another one" (when her tennis ball is too
wet we humans won't play with it anymore).
We work with an rescue group that helps Chessies find new homes. We
occasionally bring in dogs to foster until they find their forever homes and
Amber does a great job of showing them where the toy box is and teaching them
what the rules of the house are. She's the best dog that brings a smile to
our faces every day.
