   Say Hello to Mr. Milo:

At first thought I wanted a puppy to keep me company while my husband finished graduate school. I had completed my degree and knew I would have some extra time on my hands and what better way to fill that void than with a puppy. I fell in love with Yorkies when my sister got a Yorkie (I wanted to keep her puppy, but college was keeping me too busy). So when the time was right I talked my husband into getting us a puppy. Little did I know that this puppy would literally change my view on the amount one can love an animal. Milo is much more than a pet to us, he is our Family, our first child if you will.

It was love at first sight with Milo. It was then when I noticed his ears at point, which at the time looked a little big for his tiny head. I had been teased, light-heartedly, as a child about my big ears, so we already had something in common!! These ears remain at point except for the very few times he gets in trouble and when he rolls around on the bed and one flips back. He also had the sweetest eyes that I had ever seen. I had to have him. It was as simple as that.

I have been told numerous times how laid back Milo is and how well he behaves. If I could choose the traits in a dog that would mesh with our personalities, I would not change Milo one bit, well maybe I would change his love for shredding toilet paper when I am away, but that would be it. Milo never gets too excited, except when he sees a squirrel or hears the door bell (whether it is on TV or in real life). He has a little sister (my parents' Yorkie) that bothers him constantly, but he never gets angry with her. He just lays there and lets her lick him in the face and bite his whiskers while pleading with his eyes for some help from me.

As you can see, Milo is not very good at chores. Every time we begin putting up laundry he "thinks" he needs to lie in the middle of the clothes and sleep. He is also a very good traveler. We recently went on an eleven-hour road trip and took Milo. He was amazing. He loved it! He sat in our laps and slept the whole way, except of course when he need a snack or potty break. He loved Clifty Falls State Park in Madison, Indiana, and especially enjoyed the hiking and we even saw a few squirrels.

The love that we have for Milo cannot be put into words. I hope my feeble attempt has done him justice.
