Toby
lived his second, third and fourth months away from his litter and
permanent home. Toby had his youth training in Reading, Ohio where he
learned how to be a good companion to humans and how to play with other
dogs.
Toby understood "no" and "off" the first day he was in his training. He
learned to sit on command, shake and go to the door (to do his business)
when he was just two months old. He began gentle lead training shortly
thereafter and was heeling with a loose lead at the end of his third
month. Because he is still a youngster, the "stay" command is extremely
difficult, but Toby tries to stay until released.
Toby has many hobbies: jumping, fetching, inspecting anything or anyone
new to the household and dressing in costumes. He was familiarized with
cloth on his body early, frequently and for short bursts of time. More
success with this is realized at the end of a training exercise, after a
long day or after a grooming session... at least at first.
Toby is willing to try anything! He is a curious boy with an ego as large
as his home state! Toby is outgoing and almost always seems to be smiling
(except when he suddenly takes a quick power nap).
Toby is making his forever home in Houston where he has a canine sister,
Lola the Pug, and a special human sister whose name is Kennedy. Toby will
bring joy to all who have the pleasure to meet him. He is the epitome of
why dogs are a source of unconditional love.
After some time spent being bathed and groomed, Toby was like a little
doll for his Thanksgiving picture. I posed him and he just sat there. He
actually wanted to lie down, so I had to snap quickly. But Toby and I wish
you all a very Happy Thanksgiving, full of good things to eat.
