My
husband and I adopted Flurry from the Ottawa Humane Society in December
2006; she was approximately four months old. She was our Christmas gift to
each other! From the moment I saw her picture in the lobby I knew she would
be perfect. The fact that she had two different colored eyes made her all the better!
Flurry was born in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada and was brought to Ottawa as a
rescue with food guarding issues (we worked through this and now she has no
issues!). Although she is from one of the coldest parts of Canada she actually
hates the cold! If it's colder than -25C she does not want to go outside. But,
she really loves the snow - she can run through the snow all day. And just
like the cold, she hates water - when we go for walks she will do everything
in her power to avoid stepping in a puddle. It makes for hilarious evenings!
What makes Flurry special to us? Her personality and her unconditional love.
She is not afraid of anything - she is stubborn, wild, crazy, hysterical but
at the same time she shows her love by talking to us, giving us kisses, and
rolling over to show her tummy. She gets along great with our other dog and
our four cats - she feels the need to mother the kittens - it's very adorable!
She also loves people - when we go away and she has to stay at the Petsmart
Pets Hotel she loves seeing the girls there - they always remember her name
and give her lots of attention.
Flurry was the first addition to our large pet family and that makes her even
more special to me - adopting her led to the adoption of other pets that have
given us great joy. I couldn't ask for a better dog!
