This
is Nook. He was rescued about three years ago by my daughter Rachel. She
is a vet tech. When she emailed the picture from work and said, "he's really
not big," it was because he was malnourished and flea-ridden. He didn't even
know how to play till my son Chris taught him.
He has gained about 20+ pounds since then. I have never had a more gentle
dog. He "talks" when he's excited. He loves children and thinks everyone
wants to pet him. Nook lives with a pug and two tabby cats (also rescued). The
cats jump over him to go out in the morning. He just lays there, as calm as
can be.
Two of these pictures are from a recent Pocono Mountains weekend trip. He
totally enjoyed the deck, lake and just hanging outside. His favorite time of
year is winter, especially snow!
His name is actually Nanook, but we call him Nook for short! He is about ten,
but that's really just an estimate since we don't know a lot about his
"puppy-hood," but we assume it wasn't very nice, given the shape he was when
he was rescued.
i would say his favorite activity besides eating is going for his daily
walks. The highlight of his walks is if he gets to interact with children,
and they pet him and say how soft and fluffy he is. After seeing kids, he
prances away as happy as can be!! We have a neighborhood child that calls him
"Mr. Puff-Puff".
My life has truly been enriched by Nook.
