Miko
is the Highlight of my life. I can't imagine life without him. He will
not leave my side. He is the most obedient dog I have ever seen! Miko learned
almost seven commands/tricks in about three hours! He loves being with family. He
loves other dogs but the other dogs don't like him. I got him a waterproof
winter jacket and he loves playing in the rain and snow with it. And for the
holiday season, Christmas, we got him an elf hat. He loves it on him!
Miko also likes to play soccer. He will run around with my friends with the
ball. He scored once and then popped the ball. It was so funny! At night, Miko
loves to get last minute playtime so he can go right to sleep. My mom and I
get him to say "I love you" and "Mama". Each night he gets night-night
treats. He has to do commands to get the treat from me my mom and my dad. He
has gotten to the point of not accepting treats unless he works for them.
When we got him was a little surprise. My mom was taking an online school
for Medical Billing and Coding. I wouldn't stop bugging her. So one night, she
was on Craigslist and I was outside playing with my neighbor. It was about six
p.m. My mom came outside with car keys and a towel. I asked her "Where are you
going?" She said "to the store and then tanning." I said a simple, "OK." An
hour later she still wasn't back. I called her and called her, but she didn't
answer. So my neighbor and I started playing tennis again. Then my phone rang.
It was my mom, but it wasn't a phone call - it was a picture message. I opened
the text up and saw this big old brown thing. I immediately called her and I
asked her what it was. She told me it was a dog and If I wanted it. I said
"YES!" She made sure that I didn't mind him being very, very scared of
everything and told me he was still a puppy, six months old. I said "I can train
him!" so she brought him home. My neighbor and I both sat on my bed and her
sister sat on the floor. My mom put the dog down and Miko simply looked in
each person's eyes. He didn't take his eyes off me when he saw me. Then out of
nowhere, Miko jumped in my lap and didn't move. I think he fell asleep... he
knew he was home.
Miko's previous home abused him. They didn't brush him, bathe him, or take him
outside to go to the bathroom. So when we got him, his hair was so long, I
could braid it! They didn't give him any attention. He had never even seen a
vet! He was most likely abused by men, so that is why the only guys he likes
are my dad and my grandpa.
Recently he had his first time in the snow he loved it! He looked like a
little jack rabbit hopping around! He loves his elf hat, and sitting by the
tree too! And we love Miko!
