My
long-haired German Shepherd is Kody Grace, she is a very special Therapy
Dog who loves to work. We visit our local cancer center a few times a month.
It is so rewarding to see a patient light up when Kody and I are visiting.
This is so rewarding for both of us. We visit our local school too, as she is
so gentle and loving to children. My nine grandchildren attest to that as
well.
One night Kody refused to get into her bed. Instead, she stayed in the
hallway, lying at the top of the stairs, stubbornly disobeying our commands.
Kody was also making doggie sigh-noises. My husband thought she had to go out
again so he got out of bed, dressed and went downstairs. Kody followed
eagerly. Upon entering the living room, my husband noticed we had left a Tart
Burner on the table and it was still lit!! We had forgotten to extinguish
it. After his discovery, you could see Kody was relieved. Her tail wagging,
and her kisses - surely from her relief - you could see it on her sweet,
intelligent face. Kody is a hero. She is so protective of everyone, especially
our grandchildren - she herds the toddling babies away from doorways and
stays close to them when outdoors.
Everyone who meets Kody Grace loves her. Kody is awesome. She is my constant
companion and joy each day! She is an EPI survivor too. Diagnosed with
Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency this past spring, she doing great now that
she is on enzyme replacement at every meal. You can see she still loves
playing Frisbee, it is her favorite game.
