This
is our wonderful dog Chanel. We live in Montreal Canada and love her very
dearly. Here she tells you her own story:
Hello!! My name is Chanel, I am an elegant English black Labrador. I am
thirteen years old and live now in Montreal, Canada. l am the happiest dog in
the world. Not only because I have a Dad and a Mom that love me and care for
me, but also because I have a granny that spoils me rotten: she massages
me and I find it so relaxing that I grunt with pleasure while she does it!
I do appreciate all the fuss they make as my life has not always been a piece
of cake! Adoptive parents brought me from England to Canada from where all my
ancestors came from. I love the cold and the snow, it is in my genes. Unfortunately
after a couple of years of good life, I was put in their garage. I was no longer
allowed into the house. The kitchen was the only place where I could see
people working. I rarely was taken out for walks.
When I became five, I got a visit from a young couple that caressed me and
played with me, and talked to me in such sweet tones. In no time they took me to
their home. My whole life changed! I had my bed near the living room, I was
allowed upstairs to the bed rooms as well as sometimes on the bed, they
brought me lots and lots of toys that I kept jealously next to me when I
slept. I thought I was in heaven. Dad and Mom take me for long walks and
sometimes to the lakes in the Laurentians where I swim and swim to my heart's
content.
I am thirteen years old now, but still enjoys a run in their big garden or on a
hill, I am in good shape. I seem to amuse them because I snore heavily when I
sleep and it sometimes disturbs them. My only sin is my greediness, I always
look at them with my pleading eyes for more goodies, well... no one is
perfect, and on the whole I am a good girl. They tell me so all the time.
I used to love to run and roll in the snow, but now, being a senior citizen, I
prefer to snuggle in the warmth of my home.
