This
is DJ, our pretty little Shiba Inu. When we went to pick him up we were
debating names for him (before we saw him) and thought Dakota sounded good.
Then when we got his papers we found out his momma's name is Dakota, so we
called him Dakota Jr., or DJ for short. He also answers to Deej, D, or Puppy.
He is forced to share his home and people with his three cat brothers,
Maximum, Bailey and Toby the Terrorist. He is a "rare" cream color instead of
the usual Shiba red.
He'll do almost anything for cheese, which he's "guarding" in the second
picture. The only thing he can't do is catch it mid-air; it usually bounces
off his nose because he cringes away from it and then looks at you like "Why
are you throwing it at me?" When we come home he's always there to greet us
at the door with a "baby" (one of his many stuffed animals) in his mouth.
He doesn't really mind the cats but it's totally beneath him to play with
them. Our youngest cat, Toby the Terrorist, he (Toby) would try to play with
DJ and DJ would look at him like "Dude! What are you doing?" Of course it
doesn't stop Toby (being the kitten terrorist that he is) from trying. DJ
just looks more mystified than anything because our two older cats have never
had anything to do with him.
He is the canine love of my life!
