About Us
Pepper, the Dog of the Day
Name: Pepper
Age: Six years old
Gender: Female Breed: Pug
Home: Bristol, Virginia, USA

Pepper is a six-year-old female Pug, a rescue who had three previous owners before coming to us. We just don't understand how anyone could have given up such a sweet dog. She also answers to Nittles or Nittle Bittles. She's a very small Pug, only 8" at her shoulder, but has a huge heart and waistline (seventeen pounds). Pepper sleeps well and wakes up starving, or so she thinks. If she doesn't get fed right away she complains and bounces up and down on her front feet. She has two big brothers who are also rescues, a Black Lab named Sampson and a Poodle-Terrier mix named Oscar.

Pepper loves a squeaky toy and will try to talk to you with them in her mouth, which results in a muffled sound somewhat resembling a bark. She's very social and loves to meet new people and animals. Her favorite neighbors give her treats and toys, so she'll go to their front door and look inside until they notice her. When we walk in our neighborhood her brothers and I have to wait on the street while she goes to each of her favorite neighbor's porches to say hello.
