About Us
Taz, the Dog of the Day
Name: Taz
Age: One year old
Gender: Male Breed: Japanese Chin mix
Home: Westminster, Colorado, USA

My dog's name is Taz and he is approximately one year old. We think he's part Japanese Chin and who knows what else. He lives with us in Westminster, CO. We adopted Taz from the Denver Dumb Friends League about four months ago. They told us his owner had to abandon him. He was such a sight when we first got him. Some of his hair had been shaved and he was sick with kennel cough. But when we saw that face for the first time, we knew he had to be ours.

After several trips to the vet and some grooming, he is today a beautiful, spunky, healthy boy. We call him Mr. Wild Man. He can move faster than any dog I ever seen, all six pounds of him.

We adopted Taz at an animal shelter and he was so tiny (only 3 1/2 pounds)! We think he was about five months old. He had to take medicine for the first three weeks that we had him. Now he is a strong healthy little dude with lots of energy.

Taz has fit into our home wonderfully. My husband has always said that he's not much of a dog person, but he and Taz have bonded very closely. He's close with me as well, but I am a dog person and so I expected that. He loves his dad and stays as near to him as he can.

Taz is a funny little guy. We call him Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He can be so loving and snugly and five minutes later, look out. He's running through the house trying to play with anything he can get his mouth on. He's a wild little guy. We just adore him.

Taz is about a year old now and weighs six pounds. But it's six pounds of dynamite. He doesn't bark, just kind of talks to us. He loves to go for walks, play with his toys and he is so funny. Taz really loves his belly rubs, too. My husband said that getting Taz was the best thing we have ever done.
