Sophie
came to us after a long, exhausting search for a dog. On a whim, I
drove out to a local rescue group after work one day and they had just
checked in two puppies. My wife wasn't with me so I tried to send her a
picture through my phone but the phone was acting up. After a little arguing
she told me to pick one and bring it home. Hence, Sophie came into our lives.
As for her breed - your guess is as good as ours!
Sophie has been the best companion. She's smart as whip and incredibly
playful. I often travel and when I'm gone she takes my place in the bed and
guards over her domain (her house, sisters, and my wife!).
Six months after we adopted Sophie, we were in the market for a companion for
her. Puppies have more energy than a human can match, so we decided to find
her a playmate. After another exhausting search, we ended up back at the same
rescue organization one Saturday afternoon. One of the volunteers looked at
Sophie and said, "didn't you get her here?" We said yes. She replied, "Her
sister has been returned." We almost fell out of our chairs. My wife and I
never discussed it. We just signed the paperwork and walked out with Sophie's
sister. Sophie and Gracie are the best of friends and couldn't live without
each other at this point.
My wife and I feel so thankful to have these wonderful girls in our lives, as
well as their step-sister Lilly, the Beagle.
