I
found Tessa on Valentine's Day while I was browsing through petfinder.com -
what I like to refer to as "the day I found love on the Internet." I wanted a
small non-shedding dog, but the second I took her from the cage and held her
in my arms I knew she was my dog. I held her for some time, she buried her
little face around my neck and it near killed me to put her back. My fiance,
who had told me over and over again that we were not getting a dog, refused
to even go see her in the shelter. It broke my heart and I thought about her
for two long days trying to figure out a way to convince him. Then one day I
came home to a quiet and seemingly empty house, only to find the best
surprise I've ever received as a little ball of fluff came hopping out from
around the bed. Tessa was an official part of the family!
Now she is two, and she spends her days looking out the window, running around
the yard like a crazy dog, napping in all of her favorite spots and of course
sitting at the counter were her cookie jar is to let us know she would like a
treat.
Tessa is an extremely loving dog, she loves to cuddle or sit across your lap
and if you get to close she's sure to give you a kiss. She knows a ton of
tricks and her most popular one is giving high-fives! She loves her doggie
treats but her favorite snack is a nice cold crunchy ice cube! If she hears
ice clinking around in your glass she will sit and stare till you toss one to
her. Currently we are all in wedding planning mode for our October 2011
wedding, and Tessa is practicing her best sitting skills as she will be posing
for numerous pictures that day! She's the best.
