Mia
was rescued from a dark damp basement at about three months of
age and has dedicated herself to rescuing others since. With a lot of love
and patience she has become the most wonderful family member and a huge
help to Joe Nick in finding missing persons. Mia stands for Missing In
Action, which we thought was a good name for a dog who does search and
rescue work.
For over 25 years, Sgt. Joe Nicholas (Joe Nick) trained dogs for the New
Jersey Department of Corrections, using dogs to find missing people and
fugitives. Although retired from the force, he's still looking to reunite
family members with their loved ones. Joe's passion and devotion to finding
missing persons is inspirational and watching him work with his
Bloodhounds, German Shepherds, and Belgian Malinois is amazing. TV show
"Joe the Bloodhound"
will be on the Biography Channel, and Mia gets to feature in the first episode.
It will airing Monday night (tonight) at 11 p.m.
When she's not working Mia enjoys an exhausting game of fetch and is
incredibly playful with humans and her best friend, a German Shepherd
named Rome. She loves meeting new dogs and won't hesitate to introduce
herself to you with kisses and licks.
