Clayton
is our purebred red Australian Cattle Dog. He is the perfect
example of the breed. Active, stubborn, affectionate, protective and
loves to herd anything that moves. His favorite activity is swimming. He
will spend hours in and around the pool. As of now, Clayton is learning
agility and obedience. We are going to enroll him in Dockdiving and
Rally soon. He has earned his AKC Star Certfication. Not bad for a
stubborn dog!
Clayton is almost constantly moving. He will rest only for very short
periods of time. He likes to see what is going on in and around the
home. His favorite game is to fetch a toy from the swimming pool. He
will jump in as often as you throw something in for him. He will obey
commands but seems to think about whether it's a good thing to do
immediately or in a little while. He is very food motivated though, so a
favorite treat will have him working like a pro. He is always watching
the house and property, barking a warning to anybody that comes around.
Even when going for a walk, he will focus on someone that seems to be
getting too close. He loves nothing more than to sit on the lap of
somebody he knows. He thinks he's a four pound lap dog... not a 47-pound
bundle of muscle. He brings us endless joy and we look forward to many
years of his endless energy!
