This
is Ritzy, she is four pounds and loves to swim and will dive into the
pool and swim over to the steps to get out and go do it again. She has never
had a bad day and she greets everyone not only wagging her tail but her whole
bottom half shakes. She is my heart.
Ritzy was less than one pound when I got her at eight weeks old. I purchased her
out of the loneliness of losing my Mother. She was my therapy and has been a
joy to the family. She fell into the pool the first week we had her so this
summer we decided to teach her how to get out of the pool. She loves to swim
more than anything else. She will go into the bathroom and stand by the hook
where we keep our swimming suits and bark at a high pitch for one of us to
come in and put our suit on and take her out to the pool. She will not go off
the first step of the pool unless someone is in with her. She has now learned
to fetch a small toy if you through it out in the middle. She literally dives
in and gets it and brings it back.
In the morning Ritzy will run to each bed and take her paw and touch your eye
to say good morning. Once you open your eye, her tail and butt starts wagging
and she is ready to snuggle and play. Ritzy turned three years old on August 6,
2010. She is very smart, so we look forward to teaching her many more new
tricks each year. The one sad thing is that she gets car sick and so as much
as we would like to take her every single place with us, it is just to hard
on her. We love her! She is like having a small child around. She demands
attention and everyone loves to give it to her.
