Patti
came to us through Greyhound Adoptions of Florida after a bad
accident during a practice session. She had to have her right leg rebuilt
with a rod and pins yet it has never stopped her from still running with
the wind, when she wants to and not because she has too. She has a very
quiet demeanor, but very wise - she knows when to calm me down and keep
her sister, Zeva, our other retired racer, in line. It was a bumpy start
when Zeva came to join us but since then Patti is in charge (basically of
all of us) and never has to raise her voice. Yet, if needed, a very deep
rumble can come out of this beautiful girl.
Patti is our third out of four rescued greyhounds and she adopted some of
the special traits from our first boy, Mickey (after Mantle) just to let
us know he's not forgotten. Her best trick is the "nose down, eyes up"
which gets her several treats a day. If they can't convince me, then it's
off to see Dad to work their magic!
Greyhounds are wonderful companions are really a great cure for high blood
pressure! I highly recommend them!
