Nathan
is my only grandson. I share him with my son. We have had him since
he was six months old. We lost our other Scottie after thirteen years, so we drove eight
hours to pick this little guy from the breeders. He sat in my lap almost
all the way home. I think that is why he likes me so much.
The only tricks he knows is if you say, "Do you want to go to Mom's?" he
will run to the door as he loves to go to Mom's house. He actually can
guide you all the way to her house which is five blocks away. Oh, and he
knows the command sit and stay. We use it before crossing the street each time.
If I want him to spend the night I must go get him. If my son brings him
over for the night, he will set by the front door waiting for him to
return. After spending a night sleeping with him by the front door I
realized I must bring him over. It is funny little things you do for a pet.
My son has had some health issues so Nathan has been spending the night at
mom's. He thinks I can't tell time so anywhere between 3 and 4 am he will
wake me up with a cold nose to the cheek. I have gotten smart and look at
the clock. If it is before 4:30 AM I will tell him, "NO you go back to
sleep," and he does, then around 5 he will gently wake me again to be fed.
I do love this guy.
In the summer we let him play in the water. He has his own little plastic
pool and just loves it. He is one pampered little dog.
He is very affectionate with only his mom. He will sit in my lap and give
me kisses. He hates it when I pick up the iPad and will try and nudge it
out of my hand!
