Kork
has been part of my life for five years and we raised him as though he
was a child. He is kind and loving, and he loves being on our laps even
though he weighs 75 pounds.
I had a Staffie when I was young and always wanted to have one when I
started my own family. She was a great family dog, as Kork has turned out to
be a great family dog as well. The Staffie when I was a kid had been very
badly abused and although she would never do anything to hurt any of our
family members she was on edge with strangers. I wanted to make sure that I
could train my Staffie from a tiny puppy to make sure that he had no
negative input in his life.
Kork never left my side for the first three years of his life. He came to
work with me every day he traveled to family reunions with me and to
newfound land with him one summer. He was the first dog my husband and I
purchased together, this made him special already but because he was our
first dog we spent extra time training him, he loves to do tricks he is very
food motivated he can sit, stay, lay down, leave it, spin around in circles,
give hi fives, touch things to open them on command, back up, move to the
side, go to his pillow on command, even though he is food motivated he will
never touch a morsel of food unless we tell him it's ok he will give us the
food he is eating without a thought. He loves to go to the playground and
play with kids there going down slides, climbing up ramps. He also loves to
run, he thinks he is really fast you can see it in his face, he is quite
slow, but his ears blow by in the wind and he loves that feeling more than ever.
When Kork turned three we decided to get a companion dog for Kork, we
purchased a Great Pyrenees, we thought she would help keep him warm and be
great company for him and she does both these things. They are the best of friends.
He loves children and other animals large and small, and he gives bully
breeds a good name. He makes people that are scared of dogs love dogs as he
is gentle, wonderful and beautiful.
