Stella
is a beautiful and smart girl! When she wants to go on walks, she
brings our shoes to us. She also opens doors, and grooms the cats! She's
very sweet and loves vanilla ice cream!
She is very affectionate, caring, and especially smart. Sometimes she can
come off as rather aggressive to other people or dogs, but generally that
only happens if they try to visit the house, as her German Shepherd genes
are very prominent. She knows many tricks like fetching, retrieving, paw
shakes with people, sitting, laying down, rolling over, playing dead, and
jumping when told.
She's rather aloof around strangers, but within the family is very
affectionate and outgoing. She loves my father the most, and will lick his
wounds if he happens to get hurt somehow. She also "preens" us and the
cats - the way birds do, something like gently nibbling?
We found Stella when she was about six months old at a Fresh N' Easy
grocery store, she was abandoned but knew some tricks such as paw shake
and sit. It's a miracle because at the time we had just begun going about
adopting another female pure bred white shepherd puppy from a breeder in
New Mexico. About two weeks after having adoption problems with the puppy
(it was very aggressive, so the adoption did not work out) we found Stella
- who was exactly what we were looking for! And the rest is happy history!
