This
is Xmas-Bell/Bell/Wudga. We call her Bell for everyday use, but her name
is officially Christmas Bell (see her baby picture) and I tell her she is my
Wudga! We adopted her from Northshore Animal League,they had rescued her from
Tennessee. She has been through a lot in her five years. So far she almost died
at five months from meningitis, and developed bad hip arthritis at little over a
year old. When she was 2 1/2, she tore her ACL and had surgery, so she's on
anti-inflamatories for the rest of her life. Sometimes has an issue with her
shoulder, too. She has also had a few really bad cuts, when she got into
things she shouldn't, her fur is so short it does not offer much protection.
Her life is not all hardship, though! As far as playing, she loves to
retrieve things from the water (a pool, the bay, whatever water is
available). Sometimes she runs around the house like a nut, and her favorite
game is tug of war. Lest I forget to mention, nothing ever stops her.
She loves to be warm and cozy, either by laying near the radiator or just
basking in the sun. I also taught her to gives hugs when asked!
Her personality is great. Bell loves children, and is sometimes stubborn like
the rest of us. She is not spiteful at all, and for some reason she runs to
me when I sneeze, makes sure I am okay, then covers me in kisses! She's very
loving. Though I'm the one out of the four of us that didn't want a dog, I
now don't know what I'd do without her! I truly wudge her (that's why she's my Wudga).
