Pongo
came to our lives seven years ago, after we lost our first Rottweiler,
Ares. He was a puppy full of energy, who loved to go to dog school, where he
learned to be a well-behaved city dog. He likes his long daily walks, he
likes to play with frisbee and ball, and he likes to do tricks for treats. He
also loves to swim very much, and to eat almost everything except fish and eggs.
Pongo is one really goofy dog. He is so sweet and so funny. I can't help
myself but I'm always comparing him to my first Rottweiler, Ares, who was one
very serious dog. He was very good, but he was like an "old soul". Pongo is
totally different. He's the kind of a dog who won't put his head in your lap
when you're feeling sad, but would rather take ball and jump in front of you
chewing that ball, trying to make you play with him; this is his way to makes
you feel better. So I guess my first Rottweiler would be nicely described as
"Mister Dog" while Pongo is more like a sweet funny clown. In his yard he's
pretty territorial, he's a good guardian, but he also loves to have guests
and is very happy when someone is coming to visit us. Over time time he
learned some tricks including: play dead, beg, crawl, roll over, leg weave, high five.
He makes us smile every day. He's our most precious family member.
