Molly
had a rough start in life. She was owned by an eccentric elderly
hoarder and it's during those formative times she learned to climb up high
and hide things in hard-to-find places. Sadly, the lady died in their
apartment and the animals, Molly and two cats, were left there with her body
for an unknown amount of time. Even a year and a half later, she has some
personality traits that clearly go back to this traumatic time in her life.
She follows me everywhere, and is frantic when I leave, and even more frantic
when I come back. If I am not feeling well, she turns into a medical
professional who refuses to leave my side.
Like her brother George the Cat, who also had a rough beginning to life,
Molly is also a bit of a thief. She takes things and hides them in the
strangest of places. George usually only steals bags of treats which he
shares with her so they are accomplices in petty theft. She adapted well when
George came to live with us and brings him toys, plays chase with him, and
naps, even grooms him. She must have learned this playing with the two cats
in her first home. She shows a little jealousy from time to time but George's
instincts are good and he'll wander off if she is being that way.
Mplly has never met a toy she couldn't kill in five minutes flat. She rips
out squeakers from stuffed toys like she eats her kibble, fast and furious.
She's always disappointed when it doesn't squeak anymore but no matter how
many toys she gets, she MUST KILL THE SQUEAKER. It's Molly Law.
She's a good little girl aside from her toy-murdering episodes, just wanting
love and approval. She gets lots of that but I know she remembers her life
from before and it's heartbreaking to see some of the parts of her
personality that are still back in that time. She has been with me for half
her life now; she was one and a half and just turned three.
