Sancho
has pancreatitis, so he's supposed to be on a restricted diet of no
fats or sweets, but then, aren't we all??? We tease him that he's more like
an ottoman than a dog, but he has a darling face! He bays like he's cornered
a fox when his loved ones come in the door. He's thrilled to see you, but he
really wants to skip the formalities and get right to the treat!
He is my fiancés beagle and he is seven years old. His birthday is September 11,
which is when his dad decided to join the Marines. He is not a very
affectionate boy, but every once in awhile you'll get a lick on your leg as a
drive-by kiss. He's incredibly independent and will wag his tail a lot when
people are around, but as soon as you lean down to love him, he scoots
backward so you don't actually touch him.
His whole world is following me around the house, most importantly in the
kitchen. He has pancreatitis so his snacks are frozen peas (which he likes to
jump in the air for) cantaloupe, beef lung, strawberries, and saltine
crackers. He truly is a loaf of bread with his belly hanging out! His
favorite trick is catching peas in the air and his least favorite is being
told to go to jail (his bed) when he's begging too much.
He is a sweet, sweet boy who likes to sunbathe and loves to go on walks in
the afternoons and mornings. He sticks his head out on car rides until he
gets too tired and then uses the armrest as a pillow. He's getting older, but
can get rowdy when his sister, a younger yellow lab, starts to play with him.
He loves to sing to me in that distinctive beagle voice and do running laps
around the house when I get home from work.
