Dusty is the sweetest dog.
His original owners were going to put him in the pound. Steve took him into his home then gave him to me. Dusty loved to jump and run every where.
He started having problems with his back. He couldn't get up, and could not walk at times. We would take him to the vet, where they would give
him medication that seemed to help. Then we moved into a house with a big yard where Dusty and Abby (our basset hound) could run.
One day Dusty came into the house and just kept passing by us, his back was arched, and he couldn't sit still.
We rushed him to the vet, where they discovered he had a herniated disc. He just laid there, and he couldn't move. He started dragging himself
with his front legs, and had no use of his back legs. I had to run to keep up with him. I then started to use a belt around his belly
to help him walk and not drag. Then we bought him a wheelchair. He had to put shoes on his back paws, but we walked him every day.
After a year, he was back on his feet. The vet had said it was a only 50/50 chance of him ever walking again. He still has some issues,
but nothing we can't handle. And he is back to being the cheerful, sweet dog he was before all this happened!
