Chipper the Pomeranian, the Dog of the Day
Name: Chipper
Age: Six years old
Gender: Male Breed: Pomeranian
Home: United States of America

Chipper is very important to me because he came into my life another dog I was very attached to had to be put down because of old age. In a way, he helped me in ways no person ever could.

When he first came into my life, Chipper was hardly house trained. He couldn't be alone for more than three hours a day, he dug to China in the yard, garbage cans didn't stay standing for long, and anything left in the floor would be chewed on. Granted, he had been passed around quite a few times. He started out as an Owner Surrender to a No-Kill Shelter to my neighbor's house, and now mine.

Now that he officially belongs to me, I've gotten him trained much better. He's house trained. His separation anxiety has gotten a lot better because of my other dog, Gracie. But he still hates to be alone. He's a very good dog. He's my furbaby and loves to go for rides in the car. I take him camping and to dog parks regularly. He's a highly energetic boy, but has a calm side. He absolutely loves children and babies. He even loves cats with a special passion.

Chipper is always smiling and his under-bite gives it an even cuter effect. Especially when I capture him on camera. He's one of the best dogs I have ever had and we are much happier at each others' sides.
