Selecting the most frightened dog in the shelter was the right choice.
Poppet is the most loving, cuddly girl - 62 pounds (28.1227 KG) of solid muscle yet
a very gentle soul. She loves to worry about everyone, especially her
two greyhound mates. She is the perfect ambassador to help others
realize what wonderful family members "bully breed" mixes can be.
Poppet was heartworm positive when we adopted her but just received a clean
bill of health after the quick kill treatments and trying to keep her
calm for 6 months. Now she can chase all the lizards and frogs she
wants. She loves to check out other dogs but is still a bit of a
"fraidy cat" around little dogs - really! Now we can see if she will
be a good fishing buddy for her dad. Give pit bull terrier mixes a
chance - you will be glad you did!
