My partner and I adopted Gigi from a wonderful dog rescue based in Taiwan. Gigi had health problems in the past, so she'd been in foster care for nearly a year. Her external ear canals were removed after a neglected ear infection, so her ears are flap rather than pointed. Her foster mom said that was another challenge in getting her adopted. We feel like the luckiest people on earth that she wasn't adopted sooner, because now she's part of our family.
Gigi is quiet - we've only heard her bark once - and she has the personality of Lab. She is perpetually playful, endlessly curious, and overly friendly. Her favorite things to do are sleep, eat, and cuddle. Then sleep, eat, and cuddle some more.
She lost some of her hearing after the surgery, but it's not completely gone, so we can call her name and she'll come running, her little feet clinking against the wood floor. She is the perfect dog.
