Like all chihuahuas, Tommy has his special person, me, but he equally loves my daughter. He is our shadow and our guardian. We rescued him five years ago and I can't imagine life without him!
He is our first Chihuahua, we rescued him but really didn't realize how much we would love the breed. Now we know they are terrific. We were getting a second dog (at the time we also had a Golden Retriever). We were actually getting a different dog, but by the time we got to the shelter, that dog was already spoken for. So my daughter and I went into the room to look at the two remaining dogs and Tommy was smart and sat in my daughter's lap and that sealed the deal.
He is very loyal and happy. He loves to play with his toys and will bring you one to show you when you come home. He is very affectionate and always wants to be in the same room as you. But he is not fond of strangers, so it takes him a while to settle down when we have visitors in the house.
He also loves to go camping, canoeing and hiking! He is a pretty active dog. We love him very much.
