We'd like to introduce our dog, Dakota. My husband and I have always had two dogs and when we recently lost one to an illness, all three of us were very depressed. We searched the Internet and found a wonderful dog rescue center which showed a photo of a white dog that appeared to be hiding from the photographer. We later learned that Dakota had previously been attacked by a pack of dogs before the rescue center found her. She was very frightened of us at first, and after we brought her home, it took some time before she could feel safe in her new environment.
After two months with us, she's enjoying her playtime with our other dog, Emma, and loves to patrol the backyard for any critters invading her new territory. She also loves to tear up her toys and those belonging to Emma too.
Dakota is approximately a year old. We think she's a mix of white German Shepherd and Corgi-sometimes called a "Corman Shepherd." We live in a rural county in northern California. We think it's important that others adopt rescued animals and save a life. They do make wonderful pets.
