Hi, my name is Sparky and I have a great life. It wasn't always though. When I was six months old my first family dumped me out of their car and sped away. I was so confused, but a nice man saw what happened and took me to a shelter. A week later I met my forever people and and have been enjoying life ever since.
I'm a serious dog and my dad says I have gravitas. I didn't come with any pedigree papers of course, so he says I am a Sonoran Lizard Retriever. My passion and purpose in life is to chase (and when successful) catch lizards, chipmunks, squirrels and skunks. Last summer I caught five skunks ... I was so proud of this achievement but my parents seemed unhappy. I can't imagine why.
When not hunting, I spend my time hiking with my parents, tearing the squeakers out of my toys, having my belly rubbed and napping. I love being brushed and being cuddled, but on my own terms. I am definitely my own man. My mom made me go to school where I learned to be a good dog and passed my AKC Canine Good Citizen test with flying colors. I also had to take agility classes which were dumb ... why should I run through tunnels, jump over stuff and weave around poles if there's no squirrel to chase? I flunked out, but my parents still love me anyways!
