Dexter is our first dog, we got him from the Los Angeles County Animal Care in Lancaster, California. I decided to nominate him now because his Gotcha Day (May second) we got him two years ago.
After my wife and I got married we decided we really wanted a puppy dog. After hearing horrible stories about pet stores, we decided that adopting a pet would be the best idea. We originally went to the shelter to look at another dog, but when we got there and saw this pup's little cute face, it was love at first sight. His pound name was Chance, but we decided to name him Dexter after our favorite TV show. To this day we still call him Dexter Chance sometimes.
Dexter's personality is very spunky and friendly. He loves hanging out with people and enjoy belly rubs from anyone. When he wants to go on a walk, he gets a little feisty and starts to bark and kick the carpet. He loves his walks, he would go on 10 a day if he had the opportunity.
Dexter can play fetch, knows how to sit and get in his bed. His best "trick" quality is that he is super photogenic. When he sees a camera he goes into doggie model mode.
I would say Dexter is super affectionate and independent. He loves the company of his humans, and will snuggle with us in bed, but when he's ready to sleep he will get in his bed for the night without even being told.
As for his breed, we think he might be a kokoni ... but since he was adopted, its hard to say for sure. He has his own Instagram page, too. We love him no matter what breed or breeds he might be!
