This is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle the Basset Hound. Arthur came to us through Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia. He was originally our foster dog that we got soon after the death of our beloved basset Tallulah. His original name was Sloppy Joe due to the copious amounts of slobber he produced and slung on every surface. Two previous foster homes had returned him due to excessive barking but that's just because he was lonely.
Once he met his new brother Phred Basset and Sweet Georgia Brown Basset, he was quiet and happy. Soon he settled in and began eating ... and eating ,,, and eating. He now weighs 82 lbs, twice the weight of our new dog Henry Basset. And he thinks he's a Yorkie. He insists on sleeping in my husband's lap in the recliner. But who could say no to those sad eyes?
