Kali was rescued five years ago from the local shelter. At first we couldn't figure out why nobody wanted this dog (she had been at the shelter two weeks). She is stunning, and though we know she is part - or even mostly - Catahoula, her thick luxurious fur suggests maybe some shepherd or collie in there. She was found at a very busy intersection. After we brought her home we found out that she's an escape artist! She could chew through a leash or rope in the matter of seconds. But once she found out that we were her family, and where home was, she changed her tune. She's been great ever since.
She loves kids and seniors. We take her to a senior facility in town and she's so gentle with them. They love her there. She's been on vacation to Colorado via SUV and soon will be headed out on another trip ... this time to California. She shares her home with another rescue, a Rottie named Magna. Who knows, maybe we'll pick up another rescue while driving to California. You can never have too many rescues!
