Yuna the English Bulldog, Boxer Mix, the Dog of the Day
Name: Yuna
Age: Two and a half months old
Gender: Female Breed: English Bulldog, Boxer mix
Home: North Carolina, USA

Why is Yuna special? There isn't a thing about her that is not special. From the moment she was born, I was there in her birthing area. I helped deliver her from her mother, and ripped open her sack. The mother chewed her cord. She wasn't breathing right away, so I immediantely sucked her little nose to get the water from the sac out and she started breathing and feeding on her mom instantly. My heart skipped a beat when I first ripped her out of her sac. You see, she looks exactly like a dog I had when I was little, that had died when she was two weeks old. She was completely white with a brown tear drop on the side of one of her eyes, and a brown spot on the top of her head. That dogs name was Yuna. That's why I decided to name her Yuna. She was so incredibley special to me from the moment she was born.

She is lively and full of energy! She also knows how spoiled she is, and knows she can get away with whatever she wants. She also loves fighting with her brothers and sisters. Her journey, although she is still very young, has been massive. She has been through being infected with coccidia, to two weeks later after getting Parvo before she was old enough to get her parvo shots. It was a nightmare. I won't go into all the massive amount of details here, but I used all of the money I had saved up working for an entire year, every dime on home hospitalizing her and her brothers and sisters. Anyone who has ever dealt with parvo knows, it's horrors. Blood pouring out of their butt, throwing up, giving IVs and antibiotics, it took a lot. But despite the doctor telling me they had a 30% chance of survival, she lived. In fact, eight of her siblings lived out of 10. It is truly remarkable.

I will always hold her so close, and know there is no way I am going to lose Yuna, like I had before. She is so beautiful, so inspiring, and honestly, so special.
