Here is my puppy Finley, at eight weeks old. He is a fox red Labrador, and his nickname is Mr. Personality. He is the smartest lab I have ever owned. I used the bells on the door method to train him and in two days he was the ringing the bells to go outside. Tough to do here in Maine when the average temp is near zero daily. I brought him home at seven weeks as my early Christmas present. This second picture is so perfect to capture the season.
Just before Christmas a friend who had lost her dog told me about these fox red labs. So I told her she should get one and she said she was not ready just yet. Hence, I decided to go look, and that is how Finley joined the family. He is now 7 months old. He has had puppy training classes - and is extremely well behaved. Not a cuddle bug but loves to be scratched and rolls over for his belly rubs daily. He has this massively deep voice and when he talks it sounds so funny, because it is so deep. When I go to bed, he plops in front of the door to the stores - guess he thinks he keeping me under lock and key.
You can put a treat on his nose, then say flip it, and he usually catches it. He twirls, rolls over, and plays a ton with my other Lab, Bentley, who is now four years old.
