Little Foot the Silky Terrier, the Dog of the Day
Name: Little Foot
Age: Ten years old
Gender: Male Breed: Silky Terrier
Home: Melbourne, Florida, USA

Little Foot is an active little dog who loves people and being social. He's always the center of attention and very protective of his owner. He loves the great outdoors and like to chase the birds, squirrels, and ducks in the parks. Bath time is always a pleasure with him as he's very still if we sing to him. He likes cartoons and old westerns. Everyone loves him, he's truly a blessing to all of the family.

Little Foot's owner, a 65-year-old man, was walking him near a drainage ditch one day. The older man was so close to the edge of the ditch that he fell in. Since he was handicapped (with a stroke), he was unable to climb out. He was only able to call out for help, but no one could hear him. Little Foot was above him and luckily, did not fall in with him. So, Little Foot proceeded to run back to the apartment complex across the street and bark continuously. One of maintenance guys noticed that he was alone and knew that something was wrong. Little Foot guided the maintenance man over to the ditch and the older gentleman was saved.

Little Foot's other owner, a 60-year-old woman, slipped and fell in a kitchen one day. She's a full-sized woman, so when she fell on her butt, it wasn't life threatening. Little Foot barked and barked, she was telling him to go for help, but he just barked at her. The older woman has high blood pressure and is obese. So when she decides to go to bed early (upstairs), we're all suspicious because she hates to climb the stairs. Her doctor has put her on a strict diet and she hates it. Little Foot was already upstairs, as he goes up when she goes up. A few minutes later, we hear screaming and yelling. Apparently, Little Foot found a fully dressed hot sausage sandwich in her purse (on the floor) and ate it. She had planned to sneak upstairs and eat the sandwich without us knowing. So, Little Foot may have helped save her life by eating this sandwich that she had no business with in the first place!

Little Foot is truly a very special dog.
