Say "Hello" to Murphy. Murphy joined our family five years ago on September 14th when he was less than a year old. We got him outside the SPCA near us. Then, he was a skinny, scruffy, little beagle on the end of a rusted chain who was being abandoned for the second time in two weeks. He never made it to the counter. We took him home, where he quickly became the center of our family. Murphy got his name from Murphy's Laws, which he lives up to even today. Two years ago Murphy herniated two discs in his back and was paralyzed. He underwent spinal cord surgery, and afterwards was given a 5-30% chance of ever walking again. If we knew anything about Murphy, we knew two things. He was - and is - strong and stubborn. He didn't let us down.
Today he can walk and run (with some difficulty). On long walks he uses a cart for support. He is happy, healthy, and after all he has gone through, he hasn't changed. He is as playful as the day we got him. His favorite snack is Pupperoni. He enjoys walks, especially down the shore on the sand. He loves stuffed toys. Our world wouldn't be right without him. What else can I say, he is our boy!
