Hi, my name is Zeus. I am a gentle giant whose life has changed dramatically for the better. We don't know how old I am, but the vet guesses six to eight years old.
It started when Kim rescued me from a horrible situation. I was living outside in a small pen with little food or water. Kim took me to her house. That was much better. However, Kim works all day, so I stayed in a room at her house.
Her Mom suggested that she bring me to her home. So off we went to "Granny's". She has several small dogs. They were afraid of me because of my size. It didn't take long for them to realize I'm just a big sweetheart. Now we are best of friends. I love having brothers and sisters.
"Granny" thinks big dogs should have big food bowls. She doesn't want me to ever worry where my next meal is coming from. I also needed a big pillow. Even if I'm hungry, I let the little dogs eat first.
One of the best things is we have a big fenced in yard. "Granny" opens the door and we all got out to play and potty. The only bad thing is the vet said I have heartworms. We are working on that. I should be cured in about three months.
The moral of the story is never give up. When things were so bad a short time ago, now my life is happy.
