Idgie is eight and a half years old and is a female dog of mixed breed. She lives in with her person, Louise, and honorary person, Michael. She lives peacefully with Sydney, her Australian cattle dog who's five years old and her black and white kitty named Parker, who came on the scene a couple of years ago and turned their world upside down but she adores her dogs.
Idgie was left in a box on my door step when she was a six-week-old puppy. The box also had a bag of Puppy Chow and a note that read "I am a good puppy. All I need are my shots and your love." I found out a year later that an acquaintance in my neighborhood had noticed my interest in the neighbor's dog and thought I could use a new friend. He found Idgie lying in a dirt road in the middle of nowhere and picked her up. His hunting friends turned her down and he remarked later that they would be sorry they did if they could see her now.
Idgie is smart, expressive, loving and loves to 'talk.' She eats sticks, acorns, chase squirrels and loves to flea bite Parker kitty. She loves to have the inside of her ears rubbed and reserves the sweetest expression for her person. She's the best dog friend I've ever had.
