This is our Border Collie, Coco. She is the smartest, energetic dog we ever had. She is our fifth dog and we are getting up in years. We got her for a companion for our 10 year old sheltie and wanted a herding dog (all of our dogs have been herding dogs). Our Sheltie died unexpectedly at 10 1/2 years. Owning two shelties and cattle dogs in the past we thought we were experienced dog owners, Then in comes a over-energetic border collie! She was a lot of work but the love she gives is well worth it. Thank goodness she is so obedient or we would not be able to handle all that energy. We learned she was not satisfied alone in the yard playing, she started digging holes.
We started playing ball, frisbee and set up some hurdles to jump, so she stopped digging, but now she demands one of us to come outside at least once a day. We all love her but she does run the house and keeps us on our toes. She is our Dog of the Day every day.
