Hello everyone, meet Wiley von Wenckstern. Wiley is a handsome Chiweenie, which for those of you who aren't familiar, is a Chihuahua mixed with a Dachshund...makes for a pretty cute mix, right? Well, Wiley is actually my sister's dog, but I thought he deserved a bit of recognition. Oh, and he got the name Wiley bc everyone said he looked like a little coyote.
Wiley was rescued off the side of the road with a couple of other doggie pals. When found, he was pretty bad off. He had a severe case of distemper and was lucky to be found when he was. After being rescued, Mr. Wiley Bean, (Beans for short) was fostered by a caring family that made sure he was healthy and began looking to get him the forever home that he deserved.
Enter, my sister and her fiance. They were looking for a dog to warm up their hearts and home, and my sister's fiance fell in love with Beans immediately online. My sis, on the other hand was not so sure. Having grown up with dachshunds, she had her heart set on getting one, and thought chihuahuas were a little...shall we say, overrated. However, the combination must have done the trick, because as soon as they all met, it was love at first cuddle!
One of the most special things about Beans is that because of the distemper he had as a pup, he has permanent nerve damage that effects one of his front legs. He has a constant and permanent tic. Even when he sleeps you can feel him tic over and over, like a little heart beat. At first, we all felt sorry for him, but now we know he doesn't even notice it and he runs around like any normal handsome man.
He has certainly been the source of much laughter and love in our family and we couldn't imagine US without HIM.
So world, without further adieu, I present Wiley "Bean" von Wenckstern!
