This is a picture of my dog, Jasper. He's a five-year-old Golden Retriever, and is every bit as sweet as he looks. He has such soft, silky fur, and does not mind being brushed. This is good, as that keeps his fur from getting absolutely everywhere. Still, one should not have a Golden without also owning a good vacuum cleaner. He'll take care of any food that drops on the floor, but the fur is your responsibility.
What is special about Jasper is that he has his routines that he follows every day. Every night after he gets done with his dinner, he sits in front of the refrigerator until he gets his "Frosty Paws" ice cream. After he's done with that, he goes back to the kitchen, and sits by the cabinet with the treats, until he gets his rawhide. Then when he's all done with those, he goes to the bedroom, and brings out his "blankie", wads it up real nice, and lays down to relax for the night! We love our Golden boy!
