This is Luna - she's a border collie/Australian shepherd mix, and she came with the name- which we're certain is short for "LunaTIC". They had the gall to describe her as 'average energy'- right!! Average energy for a hummingbird on crack, maybe. She's mostly deaf but (fortunately) responds to hand signals- and she can hear some sounds, like her sister Lola's barking I(Lola appears in one pic), which is great for an alarm system.
Luna has to have a job- chasing shadows, herding tennis balls, and especially catching tennis balls - she'll catch thrown tennis balls until your am falls off. She's an especially needy dog, she wants constant attention and she's smart enough to know how to get it- usually by relentless bugging- but we love her anyway- which speaks to our own mental health, we suspect, as much as hers!
She also has been known to play catch with one of our two indoor/outdoor cats, Oreo (shown in another pic) - he'll attack a tennis ball on the lawn, roll with it, kicking and clawing, then somehow fling it, then Luna will chase it down and bring it back to him! I'm trying to get that on film, I suspect we could retire on a video like that--
