This is Bruits - he is eight years old. He is a Dogue du Bordeaux, which is one of the Mastiff family of breeds. His breed originated in Bordeaux, France, but he is a proud American boy.
He may be a big dog, but he is a softie, and rarely feels the need to bark, though when he does, it is very deep and loud. Strangers definitely think twice about entering our yard! He likes milk bones and getting his butt scratched right above his tail - he will "lean in" to the scratch, just like a (very big) cat will arch its back when petted. We love our big lug very much.
