This is my eight-year-old Cody, who was adopted at four and a half months from Mid Florida Sheltie Rescue. He wanted to be in my lap that first day of meeting him and has been by my side every day since. What makes Cody so very special is that he is tuned into every single emotion of mine and he will stay right by me until I assure him I'm okay. I've had devoted dogs before but none come close to him or our connection.
I rescued my first sheltie over 25 years ago and Cody is my third. I went to the rescue for a different dog, but when Cody walked up to me with those eyes, I picked him up and he curled right up in my lap and went to sleep. He chose me . Cody is smart and athletic, and only wants to please so after basic training we started training in Agility. He was fantastic (me, not so much) but we continued for several years and just had fun! I have since gotten some equipment and set it up in the yard and, when it's cool, he still loves the jumps especially since treats are involved. He is MOST food driven!! Cody has his "sister" Willow, who was adopted as a playmate, she is seven years old now, and ALL Diva, and two years ago, after fostering, I adopted three-year old-Artie, another joy and special boy. Cody and Artie LOVE to play and run together and Cody has been an amazing big brother teaching Artie how to live in a home, how to play and Artie follows him everywhere.
Cody does not herd me but rather guards me, unlike the other two who nip my butt a lot. Haha. He is my best friend, protector, baby boy and loves butt scratches. My dogs are my world!
