Allee
O'Mallee is our grandpuppy. Her mommy is my 22-year-old
daughter, Emma. She was sent to us at such a perfect time. We had
just had to put our other puppy, Muffin, to sleep after 13 years.
This was devastating for us. When Emma told us that she was going to
get Allee, I tried everything to talk her out of it. I told her a
puppy was too much responsibility for someone working part time and
going to college full time and that proper medical care, grooming,
etc. is very expensive and that sometime she would have to help her
little puppy die like we had to do with Muffin and that would be too
painful to go through again. But she would not listen, thank
goodness!!
When she brought that little eight-week, four-pound ball of fur and
energy home and placed her in our arms - that was it. Our hearts
melted. Emma and Allee lived with us for nine months, what a joy!!
Each of us play a special role in Allee's life. Emma, of course, is
her mommy. She tickles her, trains her, and disciplines her and Allee
obviously adores her mommy! It's Papaw's job to play with Allee...all
sorts of games like catch, tug-a-war, hide-n-seek, etc. And it's my
responsibility to rock her to sleep...she loves to nap with me better
than anyone!
Allee is very smart. She is intelligent, mischievous, loving and very
playful. She plays with all of her toys and will go get you a toy
upon command. She can sit, lay down, roll over, and give kisses.
Generally, she is very quiet except when her friend, Heidi, next door
starts to bark. She now visits Granny and Papaw frequently and we get
to keep her when Emma's schedule is very hectic or whenever she has a
trip where Allee cannot go along. Her favorite thing to do is take a
ride to the nearest McDonald's drive-thru in her Papaw's big green
twister mobile (Dodge Ram 4X4) with her head stuck out the window as
far as she can get it. She also loves playing in the back yard with
all her neighbors, a Scottish terrier, Dalmatian, three Beagles and a
Golden Retriever.
