Lucky,
age eight, is a Border Collie mix who was "lucky"
enough to be adopted by us from the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago,
IL. We fell in love with him immediately (he was ten months old at
the time and very fearful). His background, as we know it, was that
he was tied to a parking meter just outside the Anti-Cruelty Society
in the middle of December and left for dead. The Anti-Cruelty Society
rescued him (he was a mere 38 pounds when they found him) from the
elements and we were able to adopt him from the Anti-Cruelty Society
a couple of weeks after that. Hence, how he acquired his name -
lucky (as in, lucky to be alive!). He has proved to be one of
the best dogs we have ever had and was house broken the day we
brought him home. I believe we were the lucky ones!
