Sam
(a.k.a. Wookie Bear) was born on Valentine's Day and
came into our lives when she was six weeks old as a Valentine's
Day gift for my wife. Named after "Samantha" on the
TV show, Bewitched, because a small brown spot next to her nose gave
her nose a twitching appearance and "Wookie" after a
character in the movie Star Wars. Having four grown children, we
quickly adopted her as our next child. She takes advantage of being
the only one around, and we have spoiled her rotten.
Sam spent the first six months of her life playing with our
neighbor's kitten, which is the same age, and there are times when
she thinks she is a cat. Stalking birds, peering into trees and
perching on top of the couch are few of her favorite activities when
she is not sleeping or playing Frisbee.
We are very proud of our little Wookie. She graduated
Puppy Manners Class, before she was six months old, which we have been
told, is very rare. She has also graduated Basic Obedience, Advanced
Obedience, and started Confirmation. She also enjoys Agility
Training, but still needs work off lead. We love our little girl and
she gives us unconditional love in return. We couldn't ask for a
better pet.
