Dingo
is five and a half months old in this picture. We were told by
the shelter employees that he is most likely a shepherd mix, and he
lives with Pixie the cat and us in Redwood City, CA. Since we found
such a wonderful cat at the Peninsula Humane Society in San Mateo,
CA, we went back and found Dingo Dog there. We adopted Dingo as a
four-month-old puppy. Unfortunately, Dingo was found as a stray, so
we know very little about his background and early socialization, if
any. Luckily, Dingo has yet to meet a person he doesn't like. In
fact, he is doing so well in his basic obedience training that his
ultimate goal is to earn the AKC's Canine Good Citizen certificate
and become a therapy dog. Right now, his favorite toys are squeakies
and choo hooves and his favorite place is Fort Funston, an off-leash
beach in San Francisco where he can meet lots of other friendly dogs.
Dingo is now a little over ten months old and 55 pounds. We have
been visiting a local convalescent home in Palo Alto for the last
three months as part of the Furry Friends Pet Assisted Therapy
Services team. Both Dingo and I have really enjoyed participating in
this wonderful program that unites pets with lots of love to give
with people who may need a loving touch. Dingo also has his own web
page now. We have lots of puppy photos, a digest of his favorite
activities and places to go in the Bay Area, and some information on
how to get started in therapy work.
